Wednesday Bird Walks at the Wetlands

Note that all activities for the Wednesday Bird Walks at the Wetlands, Zen Birding, and Family Birding are currently on hold due to the pandemic.  BIrds & Brews is back though!  Check the calendar for the time..

Sweetwater Wetlands Park is on the south side of Gainesville, 3/4 mile east of the intersection of SW 13th Street/US 441 and Williston Road. Look for the sign on the south side of the road. We’ll meet at the covered shelter at the bathrooms.

We meet every Wednesday from September – May, at 8:30 a.m. to search for wetland birds like Least Bittern, Purple Gallinule, and Limpkin in the treatment wetlands and forest-dwelling birds in the cypress preserve.

Walks are free, but park admission is $5/car. Bring hat, binoculars, sunscreen and water.
